Big thanks are due to the group of volunteers who took part in Saturday’s litter picking session in the centre of Aylesham.
Supported by DDC’s Community Development Officer Emily Barnes, the group filled a total of eight bags of rubbish gathered from around streets and alleys in the village.
Emily said afterwards: “I’m very grateful to everyone who turned up to help. The group did well on a hot day picking up so much rubbish. I would urge residents to please remember to take their litter home with them and that will make the village so much better for everyone.”
DDC enforcement officers regularly patrol the village and anybody caught dropping litter or cigarette ends can be issued with a penalty charge notice.
